Betsy Silva serves as the Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement for Boehringer Ingelheim. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the overall vision and execution of the company’s US diversity and inclusion strategy, including external relationships and partnerships and business resource groups.

Betsy has more than 20 years of senior-level operations, talent management and global diversity experience. She has served as Senior Director of Diversity for Sodexo with responsibility for learning, employee business resource groups, and client consulting in North America and for the Diversity and Inclusion strategy in Central, South and Latin America.

She has also served as the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and the Global Vice President of Diversity for American Express. Betsy is a former Board Member of the Winston-Salem, North Carolina Urban League and a commissioner for the Winston-Salem, North Carolina Human Relations Commission. She has served as Chair of the Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad and is a co-founder of the Hispanic League.

Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Inter-American University in Puerto Rico. She earned a Leadership Coaching certification from Georgetown University, is a 2005 National Hispana Leadership.
