Josy Laza Gallagher

Josy Laza Gallagher has more than 25 years of experience as an international consultant and coach, focused on team dynamics, executive leadership, talent management, and cross cultural competencies. Josy has worked with such clients as Hewlett Packard S.A. DLA Piper, Federal Reserve Bank, Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, BP, Sloane Kettering Cancer Center, Microsoft, PPL Electric Utilities, Sodexo, Ogilvy & Mather, Exxon-Mobil, and Leidos.

Josy has a proven capability in leading culturally diverse teams and operating in global organizations, as well as in delivering training and organizational development programs that focus on respect in the workplace and cultural competency. Josy has traveled extensively, living/working in over 20 countries.

Her areas of specialty include unconscious bias, gender communication, recruitment and retention, work/life flexibility, mentoring, leadership, global virtual teams, harassment prevention, and Hispanic marketing. Josy served as a diversity officer on loan for a major global law firm and a major pharmaceutical organization, managing their organizational assessment project and supporting the implementation of their diversity and inclusion strategy.

Josy is an executive coach for the Ascent Multicultural Women’s Leadership Program of Tuck Business School at Dartmouth. Josy has a passion for seeing everyone perform at his or her full potential. She is a Tuck lecturer for the 2016 Cuba Global Insight Expedition. As Vice-President, Training & OD of Global One (an international telecom start-up) Josy was responsible for creating and leading the Training and Development Department including managing budgets, leading worldwide centers of excellence and projects to develop global leaders and strategic competencies (e.g., sales management, product introduction, customer service, leadership, communication skills).

Josy earned a Master’s degree from the City University of New York and a Bachelor’s degree from Marymount Manhattan College. Josy is certified in Myers Briggs, Rummler Brache-Work Process Analysis, Peter Block – Consulting Skills, Carlson Learning DiSC, Blessing White – Managing Personal Growth process, the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), and Triple Impact Coaching.

Josy is Afro-Cuban and is a founding member of the Career Women’s Forum in Geneva, Switzerland and of Madrinas, a virtual network for Corporate Latinas. She is also a member of the Organizational Development Organization, SHRM, and the International Coach Federation (ICF). Josy has two adult sons and lives in Reston, Virginia with her husband, Richard.
